Juan Andrés Archuleta

Archuleta built a military career in New Mexico between 1820 and 1850 by leading campaigns against Ute and Navajo people, as well as by organizing militias to defend outlying settlements like Abiquiú. He also played an instrumental role in the capture of the members of the Texan-Santa Fe Expedition in 1841.
